Gordes was absolutely gorgeous and my favorite cute little town in Provence. Don’t skip it on your way.
•
I was actually heading to Senanque Abbey (it’s not a lavender season, but still) which was a huge disappointment. The views of lavender fields are blocked off by a fence and greens, so the only way I could see it up close was to extend my arm while holding a tall tripod
•
Fun fact: Walking by I discovered Gordes also has a big retirement home. I definitely wouldn’t mind retiring there.

You know how much I love animals. Today I want to advocate for our furry friends that can’t speak for themselves.

I’m lucky that my Poofy is fine and healthy (maybe he’s just slightly chunky), but many other furballs aren’t... Do you want to help some animals without adopting them if you can’t? Click my bio link to find out how!

According to my stats 48% of you who follow my account are men. That’s quite unusual, as if you look at most accounts by women that feature women over 80% of followers are women (with an exception of butt accounts lol!). I’m quite glad that’s the case.
One could say that I should be talking to mostly women and encourage them to travel solo if I want to empower other females. I’m not sure if I agree with this 100%, but before some women stop reading this thinking that I’m an opponent of feminism, let me tell you that it’s actually the opposite. Here’s why…

You see, I don’t think women should be focused on talking to other women. If we want to use our voice, we should be talking to women AND men as well, otherwise we won’t be heard. As a woman, I want to be heard by both parties and treated equally.

There are my personal thoughts. It’s all right to disagree with me, so feel free to share your thoughts. Especially men who are here are most welcome to identify themselves, even though I know that most men never comment on social media ;-)

This is one of my favorite shots from my entire trip around #Provence, if not my favorite. But, unfortunately there’s a sad story behind it.
Most of the time during my travels I was lucky. I’ve never been robbed, or particularly harassed. One would think that a woman traveling alone would get more unwanted attention in Egypt or Morocco (where everyone was lovely towards me two times I went to these places), but not in #France. I was wrong.

A group of men sitting in a nearby cafe first started making fun of me for taking photos. When I set my tripod, they stood around it and stared at the screen, making unpleasant comments about me in French that I understood. They even asked the waiter to tell me what they said about me in English, and to my surprise he came over he did!

While I loved #Lourmarin, the people living there made my experience shitty. Have you ever been somewhere beautiful where locals made your experience unpleasant?

When I asked you guys you said that you’re on Instagram every day. Do you ever take days off social media?
I was visiting a cute French town yesterday. When I sat down I started scrolling through my feed on fb and insta. I got totally sucked into all the arguments online and for a second I thought: 1. Everyone seems to be doing something more interesting than me at that moment. 2. I need more dresses for Insta (which I def not need!). 3. People were arguing as usual’. Then I picked my head up and looked around; life was going on happily as ever. Families were enjoying their weekends, couples were admiring the view and children were playing and laughing. No drama, just living it up.
While it may seem strange coming from me, I think we should all take days off social media. Do you agree? #debate

Wine is always a good idea! As I roadtrip fields of wine, lavender and many poppies in Provence, this was back in California. I think there’s enough Cabernet Sauvignon there for everybody!

Would you sleep there?
Spent the night at this nest in Big Sur at @treebonesresort (in sleeping bags though, it was super windy). Do you enjoy camping or glamping, or just hotels? I personally like a mixture of nice hotels and glamping.

I have a confession to make: I never use any sunscreen. I don’t like how greasy they are and after putting it on I can never get it off my hands, and my skin is never tanned nicely. I was a skeptic when I got to try @olay Total Effects with SPF 15, but it positively surprised me. Its lightweight formula makes it easy to wear and combined with vitamins it gives benefits of the regular cream and sunscreen in one. The sand doesn’t stick to it either. Ill be using this cream again for sure! #mySPFmatch #ad

One of the most photographed waterfall in the US - McWay Falls. A lot of you are asking about the situation in Big Sur. Highway 1 is closed only partially, between Gorda and Hearst Castle. You can still get to Big Sur on hgwy 1 if you’re coming from the north, or through the mountains from hgwy 101. Enjoy!

Did someone say wine? Did you know that all of the most common red wines, including Cabernet Sauvignon, Syrah, Merlot, and Pinot Noir are of just one species of grape? It’s called Vitis vinifera. There are certainly other species used for wine (there are some 65-70 vitis species), but they are very rarely used for wine. And here’s even more fun facts: the grape origins are not in Italy or France, but Caucasus. Hence the first winery in the world was actually in Armenia

Walking through a sea of flowers looking for elks... ———
Just got back home from the road trip, but leaving next week for an entire month. Starting my trip in France, followed by Eritrea, then back to France and Italy. Are you traveling anywhere this spring? ———
* No flowers were harmed in this operation
